Lower Mainland getting drenched over the next couple days

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – You might as well put on your rain coat, your boots and just leave them on for the next few days. There’s nothing but rain in the forecast!

News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate adds there isn’t a lot of sun in the forecast.

“To give you an idea of why there aren’t that many breaks out there, the scale of this tropical jet stream is very impressive. Heavy rainfall warnings extend from our part of the world, south across Washington State and the Cascade range, all the way across coastal Oregon, and down California to about San Francisco,” he tells us.

“Heavy rain is in the forecast over the next 36 hours. Eventually, it stretches all the way down to Los Angeles in about 48 hours’ time,” he adds.

“It’s a huge moisture-laden jet stream and we’re sort of on the edge of it; we’ll be getting these ripples of rain over the following few days. It looks like it’ll be heavy rain this morning and then letting up this afternoon for a high of 11.”

Russ adds the rain continues tomorrow, with most of the downpour happening in the morning.

“There’s not as much rain Friday afternoon, but it’s still warm, windy, and wet. There’s even more rain in your forecast for Saturday,” adds Russ.
