Canadian border bars singer Chris Brown

TORONTO (NEWS1130) – R&B singer Chris Brown says he’s been barred from entering Canada.

The “Forever” singer tweeted Tuesday that the “good people of the Canadian government” wouldn’t let him into the country for shows in Montreal and Toronto.

The 25-year-old Grammy winner had been scheduled to perform Tuesday at Montreal’s Bell Centre and Wednesday at the Air Canada Centre, with support from Trey Songz and Tyga.

In his tweets, Brown claimed the shows were sold out.

Brown has been involved in numerous scandals and tangles with the law, most prominently pleading guilty to felony assault after an argument with singer Rihanna hours before the 2009 Grammy Awards.

He’s been involved in several more situations since, including a reported brawl with Toronto rapper Drake at a New York nightclub and an altercation with Frank Ocean that was apparently over a parking space.
