Security exercise at YVR tonight

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Airport Authority is taking part in a security exercise a the airport from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. It will not affect operations at YVR.
The exercise will take place in an area of the terminal that is isolated from passengers but people may hear gunshot-like sounds, loud shouting, notice a very large presence of first responders from multiple agencies and they may see actors wearing makeup to simulate injuries.
YVR says the live exercises are just one component of its emergency preparedness plan and helps staff practice in case there is an incident in the future.
