VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A 36-year-old Vancouver woman is dead and now police are looking for a man who may have some answers.
Police are stopping short of calling it a homicide. They say an autopsy should reveal more about how the woman died.
“The call to the home was in response to someone finding a deceased person in the home. When officers arrived they confirmed the 36-year-old woman was deceased,” says Sergeant Randy Fincham with Vancouver Police.
The woman was found on Tuesday, inside a basement suite on East 22nd Ave, near Main St.
Police are looking for 42-year-old Daniel Alphonse Paul.
“He is known to the police. We are hoping that there is someone out there that can help us find him. We want to speak with him sooner rather than later to determine what exactly happened,” says Fincham.
Court records show Paul has a record for assault, assault with a weapon and impaired driving.
Police aren’t saying what the link is between Paul and the victim, who is not being named.
“That’s something we’re still looking into,” says Fincham.
Paul is Aboriginal, five foot eight inches tall, has black hair and brown eyes.
