VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A hazmat situation briefly shut down a section of Burrard Street in Downtown Vancouver.
A suspicious envelope was found at one of the Bentall towers near Pender Street. Burrard Street was closed between Hastings and Dunsmuir Streets for a couple of hours.
The hazmat team contained the envelope in the building’s mail room to assess the contents. Crews determined the contents weren’t toxic and the envelope was just damp.
Six people were treated for flu-like symptoms.
