Mounties confirm Childress was wanted for Calgary murder

CALGARY (NEWS1130) – An update to a story that News1130 brought you on Friday. RCMP now say a man reported killed by US border agents in Sumas, Washington this past week was wanted in connection with the murder of a young Calgarian.

According to police, 20 year old Jamison Edward Childress was being sought on first degree murder charges in the death of 18 year old Brando Walker.

In a news release, the Mounties say investigators have determined Walker was killed at a home in Saddleridge, in Calgary’s northeast, and his body was dumped on the Tsuu T’ina First Nation.

His remains were discovered by a fishermen near the Weaselhead Bridge March 7th.

RCMP say they were in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for Childress when he was reported killed by US border guards on Thursday, March 19th.

Investigators have also charged a 15 year old boy with second degree murder in the case.

21 year old Chad William Gosselin is charged as an accessory and 20 year old Dylan Steven Cameron is accused of manslaughter in connection with Walker’s death.

All three will be in court this week.
