VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – They may have lost yesterday, but the Vancouver Canucks are still very much in the hunt for a spot in the post-season. With that in mind, we’re taking a look at what playoff tickets could cost with the club so close to clinching a berth.
Prices will be reasonable, at about $100 for games in the first round, which is much lower than years past says Kingsley Bailey with Vancouver Ticket. “The demand is definitely lower. And you don’t have to ask me about that you, just have to look in the media. Every day, on every station [the team] is trying to sell game ice packs, there’s a reason for that. It’s because a lot of people have walked off without season tickets.”
He adds a little surprising demand is low given how well the team has been playing in recent weeks.
“We are in a great position, but fans are fickle. Fans want to see a good product played each and every day, they want to see consistency and if they don’t see that then they’re going to make their mark noticed with their wallets and say, ‘Hey, I’m not going to buy tickets until this team has proven that they are good enough to get my money.”
Meantime, the Canucks organization says it will release a price plan for the post-season once the club is officially in the playoffs.
The team is back at home to take on the LA Kings on Monday night. The puck drop is at 7 p.m.
