Vancouver appears to be a hot spot for real estate nation-wide

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Canadian Real Estate Association says sales activity increased last month in nearly two-thirds of the local markets it tracks, including Calgary and Edmonton.

It says the number of home sales processed by CREA’s members was up 4.1 per cent last month compared with February.

However, it says the Greater Vancouver and Greater Toronto markets were the country’s only two hot spots.  It said sales activity in Calgary and Edmonton was better than in February but below the 10-year average for March.

CREA also said sales first quarter sales were below their 10-year average in most local markets.

The group’s house price index rose by 4.95 per cent, the first time since last May that it rose by less than five per cent.
