Brother of Whistler stabbing victim says the municipality needs to step up

WHISTLER (NEWS1130) – The brother of a teenager who was stabbed to death in Whistler over the long weekend says his family is upset the municipality hasn’t done more to prevent violence.

Family members have identified the teen as Luka Gordic from Burnaby. His brother Milos says he has lost his best friend, and his family is devastated by the loss.

“We’re all here, suffering together. Not only my family… everyone involved. They hurt a lot of people, those guys, and I hope they know what they did.”

Milos adds he was shocked to learn about a second stabbing in the community less than a day after his sibling was killed. “It’s a nightmare. Honestly, the city of Whistler has got to step up right now.”

Luka Gordic, who is from Burnaby, turned 19 earlier this month and was studying to become a plumber.

Police are still looking for witnesses in his death.
