Two Canadians heading into space

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – The Canadian Space Agency has announced two more astronauts from our country will be heading into space. Jeremy Hansen and David Saint-Jacqueswill get their chance sometimes before 2024.

Hanson says it’s not yet clear what their roles will be. “There are no details yet so this is the initial step that we will take. Eventually we will each be assigned a mission but we are too far out to know the specific details of our mission.”

“Usually once you are assigned to a mission, it takes about two years of intensive training for that specific mission and then you launch,” he adds.

Hanson adds he’s very excited, and looks forward to following in the footsteps of other Canadian astronauts like Chris Hadfield, Marc Garneau, and Roberta Bondar.
