Vancouver man suffers critical head injury, can’t remember how he was hurt

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A Vancouver man is in critical condition with a head injury, but he can’t remember how it happened.

The man believes he was attacked, but can’t give any further details.

Police say the 58-year-old watched a hockey game at home Saturday night and went for a walk near Kits Beach at about 8:30 p.m.

He didn’t return for two hours and when he did, he seemed dazed and had what looked like a minor head injury.

His partner tried to ask him what happened. The man could only remember being in some sort of confrontation at the beach.

The injury was more serious than thought; he was found unconscious the next day.

VPD Constable Brian Montague says the man has already had two surgeries for a major brain hemmorage.

“He may have to undergo yet anoter brain surgery. We really don’t know what the prognosis will be after that. But he’s in critical condition right now,” says Montague.

Police are hoping you can help them figure out what happened.

The man is described as white and 5’10” with a heavy build, short salt-and-pepper hair and a dark complexion. He was wearing a New York Yankees baseball hat, an orange t-shirt, cargo shorts, and flip-flops Saturday night. He was carrying a black backpack.
