Tories latest attack ad may break their own anti-terror laws: Opposition

OTTAWA, ON. (NEWS 1130) – Is the federal government breaking its own anti-terror laws with its most recent attack ads against Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau?

That’s what the opposition believes, and the Grits are now speaking out about the online advertisement.

It uses imagery and music from Islamic State videos, even showing hostages before they were brutally murdered. Then it goes on to attack the Liberals over its position on the combat mission in both Iraq and Syria.

Liberal MP Chrystia Freeland can’t believe it.  “It is really a new low.”

She believes this may breach the governments recently passed anti-terror legislation, which makes it illegal to promote terrorism or spread terrorist propaganda.  “I am not a judge, but certainly to me, it seems like a direct contravention of a lot of what this government has fought for.”

The Conservative Party has yet to comment on this issue.
