Multiple shots fired at Surrey bakery

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – More gunfire in Surrey.

This time a business around 188th St. and Fraser Highway was shot up just after 2 a.m.

RCMP Sgt Bill Parmar says no one was hit, but one bullet went through the bakery’s window.

“There were employees of the bakery that were working in the early morning hours preparing to be open in morning. [it’s] very lucky that no one was injured in the shooting. A very scary situation for these people.”

Parmar says they are looking to talk to a driver involved in a car crash a short distance away just after the shooting.

“Right now there is no link there but given the proximately of where the shooting occurred there could be potential witnesses that we would be eager to speak with regarding the shooting.”

Police think this was a random attack.

There have been about 40 shootings linked to a drug turf war in Surrey and Delta in the last three months.
