We need more answers about Burnaby shooting: former Solicitor General

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Not much information is being released about the shooting that happened in Burnaby yesterday that shut down several City of Vancouver sites from either Vancouver Police, homicide investigators or Burnaby RCMP.

BC’s former Solicitor General feels the public is entitled to more details.

Kash Heed acknowledges the situation is a complicated one, given the number of jurisdictions involved.

He says many times police don’t share much info because they don’t have it.

But he says in this situation, more details would allay lingering fears about the crime.

“Now we’re into 24 hours later and we’re no further ahead in feeling more secure or feeling that we have quenched that thirst for information at this time.”

He says police are public servants, and have a responsibility to keep you informed. “Of course it’s to let them know that their safety is not at risk.”
