BC promoting local film industry in Los Angeles

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The province is opening a BC Film and Television Office in L-A to promote our local industry.

Minister Shirley Bond says this is needed given the intense competition when it comes to jurisdictions competing to produce film and TV.

“It will allow British Columbia’s story to be told in that very, very essential market of Los Angeles.”

Bond says the office will set up tours for investors and producers to show what our province has to offer as a place to make movies and TV shows.

“It’s a $175,000 each year to have that presence in Los Angeles,” says Bond. “We certainly believe it’s a great investment, we think the return on investment will be significant.”
