Grey Whale spotted in Vancouver waters

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – An unusual visitor was spotted near Stanley Park this morning.

A grey whale was swimming in English Bay near Third Beach

Meghan Moore with the Vancouver Aquarium suspects this is the same whale seen along the Sunshine Coast over the last ten days.

“Grey whales are bottom feeders so they’re scooping up bits of mud and filtering food out of that, so it’s probably just looking along the shore line for some food.”

She doesn’t think the whale is in distress, but is warning boaters to keep away.
