Popular “bun” official election poll heating up at New Westminster diner

By

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) – The NDP is leading Burger Heaven’s federal election poll with 31 per cent and the Liberals are right behind them at 29 per cent says Manager Chris Geib.

He explains the restaurant has been running this poll for over two decades, with a pretty good track record. “For our particular riding we are at 100 per cent. If you are looking at it from a provincial aspect, probably around 50 per cent. If you are looking at from a federal aspect, we are at maybe 10 or 20 per cent.”

He calls the burger poll a big draw for customers. “We have been doing this for 24 years now and as soon as they hear ‘election,’ it doesn’t matter whether its provincial or federal. People are always asking us if we are going to do the poll again or not.”

The well-seasoned lean-to-the-right Stephen Harper Burger is sitting at 16 per cent while the Green Party’s Elizabeth May, grilled on the back burner using clean fuel, comes in at 13 per cent.

Results (as of October 12th):

  • Harper Burger – 16%
  • Trudeau Burger- 29%
  • Mulcair Burger – 31% – Leading
  • May Burger – 13%
  • Duceppe Burger – 3%
  • Bundecided Burger- 8%
