VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Paris attacks may lead to more Islamaphobia according the founder of Muslims Against Terrorism. He says people of all faiths need to unite against violence.
Like most of us, Imam Syed Soharwardy was horrified by the attacks in France and is once again trying to tell the world that ISIS and Islam are not the same thing. “It is against Koran, it is against Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him.”
Sohawardy says ISIS is not just attacking the west, but Muslims as well.
“They are using my faith to propagate their ideology and their violence and cause this havoc around the world,” he explains. “We Muslims around the world, 1.6 billion people, have nothing to do with these attacks, these terrorists, with this bunch of criminals.”
He says only a small fraction of people who identify as Muslims, use this violent ideology.
