Boycott Vancouver’s Trump Tower, force the billionaire out: city councillor

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A Vancouver city councillor is calling on people to avoid using the Trump Tower once it opens.

Councillor Kerry Jang has tried other avenues, like convincing the developer to lose the relationship with Donald Trump, but he’s had no luck.

So now he calls this move “voting with your feet” and hopes it will force the Trump organization out by making the company lose money.

“I will not go into the building, I will not use the restaurant, I will not tell my friends to stay in the hotel for example. I understand that at the Trump Tower in Vancouver, the Trump organization actually runs the hotel and restaurant,” he explains.

He says he’s already received calls and emails from people saying they will never set foot in the building.

“We’ve had event planners come up to me and say I’ve got a large budget for these things and I’m telling my clients no way in hell are we going to the Trump Tower.”

Jang’s anger stems over Trump’s anti-Muslim comments.

“If this guy cares about money, that’s all he seems to care about is money, let’s kick him in the crackers and get him out of here.”
