OTTAWA (NEWS 1130) – The Governor General has made note of Syrian refugees in his New Year’s Message to Canadians.

David Johnston says toward the end of this year, Canadians became involved in a major, international effort to welcome the refugees to our country. In his message for 2016, he thanks people in our country, for their generosity.

“Let’s continue together on this bold path of compassion, inclusion, innovation and excellence.  Let’s continue to demonstrate to the world what a smart and caring nation can look like in the 21st century.”

Not missed is an emphasis on Canadian innovation for the coming year, that means the way we do things socially, economically and technologically.
