PEMBERTON (NEWS 1130) – Pemberton RCMP are asking for your help to solve a traffic-accident mystery.
At around 11:15 Saturday morning, police received a call about a white pickup truck, a late model Chevy, on Highway 99 just south of Portage Road.
“We had a report from someone who witnessed a truck who went on the shoulder and hit a pedestrian. The driver got out and helped the pedestrian get into the truck, then drove off northbound on Highway 99,” explains RCMP Sergeant Rob Knapton.
Problem is, police haven’t been able to question the driver or the pedestrian, because they haven’t been able to find them.
“We have checked all local hospitals to determine if they stopped there. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to locate them. We looked as far away as Lillooet.”
Police are also looking for the driver of a blue SUV who pulled up next to the pickup truck and stopped. That driver could have more information about what happened.
