VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The province is promising $6-million for cycling infrastructure.
Where should that money go?
Part of the money is to go toward connecting existing bike routes.
Erin O’Melinn with the cycling group HUB says Vancouver is doing a good job with their network, but there are still some gaps.
“There are smaller segments in there like Kent Avenue is a good one, which is the south side of Vancouver but an important connection to the Canada Line bride which enters into Richmond, allowing people to move along that riverfront there
She says 40 per cent of people in Vancouver say they want to bike more, and thinks these infrastructure projects will help get them riding.
