VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – No criminal charges will be laid after a VPD officer doing radar on the Knight Street Bridge was hit by a motorcyclist on Friday.
There doesn’t seem to be enough evidence to pursue the investigation any further.
“So we have reviewed some video. We’ve spoken to witnesses. It doesn’t appear we are going to have enough evidence to support criminal charges,” explains Constable Brian Montague. “At this point, it looks like Motor Vehicle Act charges will be the only thing.”
Constable Brian Montague originally said charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm would be recommended, but things have now changed.
The officer, who is expected to recover, was hit after trying to flag over a rider.
The span was fully closed off southbound for hours and that caused big delays for drivers.
