VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The latest amendment to BC’s liquor laws will allow hotels to deliver alcohol to guests by room service 24 hours a day, as long as food is also available.
Before the change, booze could only be delivered by room service during the hours of operation of the hotel’s bar or licensed restaurant.
The BC government is touting the change as a win for the tourism industry that will create flexibility for places with overnight accommodations and improve customer service for guests.
The government has been working to modernize BC’s liquor laws but the Opposition NDP has said some changes have backfired, including when a switch to a wholesale pricing model last year caused the prices of craft beer to spike.
