METRO VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Ottawa is opening up a clog in Metro Vancouver’s sewer system.
Board chair Greg Moore says it’s badly needed.
“The Lions Gate sewage treatment plant facility replacement was named in the budget, with a contribution of $212 million.”
“This has been a project that we’ve been working through the detailed design over the last four or five years. We’re at the last stage of procurement before we’re ready to put a shovel in the ground. We really needed to have that federal government commitment,” he adds.
The province picks up another third of the cost while local governments take on the rest.
