We want you back: BC film industry on Deadpool sequel

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Note to the filmmakers behind the Deadpool sequel: Expect support and a big welcome if you decide to come back to Vancouver. That’s the message from those who promote and support Hollywood North.
Prem Gill with Creative BC — the province’s film and TV promoter — says blockbusters like these contribute to city pride.
“I think we’ve proven that we have the infrastructure and the talent and crews to showcase and support films like Deadpool and we’d welcome them back in British Columbia.”
“I certainly always helps our reputation, but that’s a reputation that’s been there a long time,” she says, adding we have the infrastructure and crews to support the big blockbusters, even though we tend to attract more TV shows.
Vancouver’s Film and Special Events unit says it has not yet been approached by 20th Century Fox regarding any sequel. It says much depends on the script and creative vision but city staff are prepared to work with the crew and cast if Deadpool comes back to Vancouver.
