VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) — Fans of the royals gathered by the hundreds at the BC legislature Saturday to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children.

NEWS 1130 reporter Lasia Kretzel captured some of the excitement in Victoria in photos.

Royal Visit Canada Arrival and Opening Ceremonies

Prince William, his wife Catherine, three-year-old George and one-year-old Charlotte arrived at their airport in the afternoon before a solemn ceremony at the cenotaph near the Legislature.

The Royal family is in Vancouver on Sunday for the second stop on their eight-day tour of BC and Yukon.
