NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A desperate search for 65-year-old Debbie Blair continues this morning on Cypress Mountain.
Searchers from Surrey, Lions’ Bay, and Coquitlam are all scouring the area for any sign of Blair.
“Today is going to be a pivotal day so we are optimistic that we are going to be able to find her,” explains North Shore Rescue Team Leader Mike Danks. “So we are going to be primarily focusing on the Dick Creek area, where we found some tracks yesterday.”
Blair was unprepared for the elements, suffers from significant health issues like Alzheimer’s, and time is running out. “With her being very hard of hearing and given the terrain that she has gone into if these are indeed her tracks that are in the Dick Creek area.”
Danks says they want to hear from anyone who was hiking in the Black Mountain area on Thursday. If you saw a woman with white hair, slim build, and white pants please contact North Shore Rescue or West Van PD as soon as possible.”
