Discovery of man’s body sparks homicide investigation

LANGLEY TOWNSHIP (NEWS 1130) – Investigators have been busy in the Langley area since Sunday.

Shots were fired at around 7 p.m.

RCMP Corporal Holly Largy says it’s not clear where it happened. “I understand that there is a connection to the parking lot at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. But I can’t confirm that that was the location to the shooting, over than to say it was related to the event.”

The man who was shot in the leg will survive in what police say is a targeted attack.

Meanwhile, the discovery of a man’s body in the Township of Langley has prompted a homicide investigation.

The body was found in the area of 72nd Avenue at 240th Street at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say it looks as though the 29-year-old from Mission was also targeted. His identity is not being released right now.

Anyone with information about either case is asked to Langley RCMP at 604.532.3200.
