Local Remembrance Day ceremonies

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS 1130) – On November 11th, Canadians from coast to coast to coast stop to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. At 11 a.m. on Remembrance Day, NEWS 1130 will observe a moment of silence.

Below is a list of ceremonies taking place across the Lower Mainland:


Parade and Ceremony
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Civic Plaza (32315 South Fraser Way)


Parade and Ceremony
10:30 a.m. at the North Burnaby Cenotaph, Confederation Park at Willingdon Avenue and Penzance Drive
Parade gets underway at 11 a.m.


Special Service
9:30 a.m. — at Como Lake Middle School Auditorium on King Albert Avenue (1121 King Albert Avenue)
10:15 a.m. — Parade from Como Lake Middle School, along Winslow Avenue to the Cenotaph on Veterans Way
10:45 a.m. — Service commences at the Cenotaph at Blue Mountain Park. Followed by a veteran, police, Fire/Rescue parade to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 263 (1025 Ridgeway Avenue)


Wreath laying ceremony
10:40 a.m. at North Delta Social Heart Plaza (11415 84th Avenue)


Parade and Ceremony
10:40 a.m. — Douglas Park Cenotaph (20550 Douglas Crescent)

Procession and Ceremony
10:40 a.m. — Procession leaves Old Yale Road onto 268 Street, then heads west on Fraser Highway to the Aldergrove Legion at 26607 Fraser Highway
10:50 a.m. — ceremony (26607 Fraser Highway)

Parade and Ceremony
10:25 a.m. — Procession leaves 20570 56th Avenue, turns left into Salt Lane, crosses over Fraser Highway, heads straight through McBurney Lane, and across Douglas Crescent to the cenotaph at Douglas Park
11 a.m. — Service at Langley City Cenotaph

Paying respects
11 a.m. — there will be no formal service, but you’re asked to gather at the cenotaph (21405 44th Avenue)

Procession and Service
10:25 a.m. — procession leaves the west end of the Fort Langley Cemetery and proceeds to the Fort Langley Cemetery Cenotaph
10:40 a.m. — services at St. George’s Anglican Church Hall (9160 Church Street), at St. Andrew’s United Church Hall (9025 Glover Road)

Maple Ridge

Parade and Ceremony
10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Memorial Peace Park (11900 224th Street)


Parade and Service
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. — 32627 Logan Avenue

New Westminster

10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. — City Hall Cenotaph (511 Royal Avenue)

North Vancouver

10:30 a.m. — Victoria Park Cenotaph (East Keith Road and Lonsdale Avenue)

11 a.m. — Cates Park (4131 Dollarton Highway)

Pitt Meadows

10:30 a.m. — Spirit Square Cenotaph (12007 Harris Road)


Port Coquitlam

Remembrance Day breakfast

Port Moody

10 a.m. — Kyle Centre (125 Kyle Street)


10:20 a.m. — Cenotaph at City Hall


9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. — Surrey Museum (17710 56th Avenue)



Victory Square, 200 West Hastings St., Vancouver, Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan will attend the service and lay a wreath.

10:30 a.m. — Memorial South Park Cenotaph (41st Avenue and Windsor Street)

10:30 a.m. — Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (3811 Point Grey Road)

10:40 a.m. — Japanese Canadian War Memorial in Stanley Park

10:45 a.m. — Grandview Park (1200 block of Commercial Drive)

10:55 a.m. — CRAB Park at Portside

12:30 p.m. — Chinatown Memorial (Keefer at Columbia Streets)

West Vancouver

10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Memorial Arch in Memorial Park (Marine Drive near 19th Street)

White Rock
