Vancouver crews called to vacant home fire

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Another Vacant home fire broke out in Vancouver Saturday evening.

Fire crews were called to the corner of West 62nd Avenue and Cambie Street in the Marpole area. They arrived to find visible flames.

A man who says he lives nearby took a picture that shows thick white smoke escaping from the home.

The cause of this fire is unclear but Vancouver fire crews have been dealing with a string of suspicious vacant home fires. There have been at least 25 so far in 2016.

Police are asking the public to keep their eyes open around vacant homes and report anything suspicious to 911 immediately.
