VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Police have charged a 38-year-old man after a suspicious fire at a vacant building on Vancouver’s West Side.
Johnathan Lewis Durocher was seen running out of the burning home by firefighters at around 3 p.m. yesterday.
Constable Jason Doucette says it’s not yet clear if this man is linked to numerous other vacant home and building fires across the west side over the last eight months or so.
“We’re very early in the investigation on this, we are having a look at motive, and also just to see if there are any similarities… to the other fires,” he says.
Durocher is facing one count of arson.
