Abbotsford husband of missing pregnant woman appeals to public

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – The husband of a missing pregnant woman in the Fraser Valley is concerned for her well-being.

Marie Stuart, 38, is five months pregnant with her and husband Leslie Scott Schellenberg’s first child. She was last seen at the Seven Oaks Mall yesterday.

Schellenberg is appealing to the public, hoping to find Stuart and bring her home, safe and sound.

“She’s been pretty moody. She’s kind of in a bit of a state and I’m worried that she might just wander aimlessly,” shares Schellenberg.

“Be careful with her, watch out so she doesn’t slip on the ice. Call the police to let us know where she is.”

Constable Ian MacDonald with Abbotsford Police says there’s a number of people looking for her.

“This woman does not have a history of taking off or bring missing or running away. Amplifying factors that elevate our concern and certainly the family’s concern is the fact that she’s just over five months pregnant. There’s a degree of urgency obviously in locating her,” he explains.

“There are two teams, one from Mission, one from Central Fraser Valley. And that’s to supplement the Abbotsford Police Department searches that have been ongoing since we receive the report yesterday afternoon.”

If you see her, MacDonald says call 9-1-1.
