VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Lots of us have been cranking the heat through this cold snap and BC Hydro is going to give its customers more time to pay the bill.
The corporation is bringing in a one-time, winter payment plan.
BC broke a 10-year-old record for peak electricity consumption earlier this month and that’s likely going to mean some jaws will be dropping as we get our latest electricity bills.

Mora Scott with BC Hydro says bills for the period between December 1st and March 31st can be spread out over six months.
“So basically what customers need to do if they are interested, they can give our customer service a call at 1-800-BC-HYDRO. And all residential customers are eligible to participate,” explains Scott.
Hydro is urging you to use its online tools to help you reign in your electricity consumption.
