Canada Post playing catch-up after winter weather

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Canada Post is putting all it has into dealing with missed mail deliveries that happened because of winter weather.

The postal service confirms to NEWS 1130 the winter weather conditions over the past several weeks created some difficult working conditions for its employees.

Canada Post says it has called on all available resource to catch-up on delivery.

Earlier in the week, people in Vancouver and elsewhere in the Lower Mainland reported mail disruptions or difficulties.

In an email, the service also gave this advice:

“Please note that Canada Post is responsible for the maintenance of community mailbox sites. We have been doing so for over 30 years and continue to take this responsibility very seriously. We clear the area in front of the mailbox and should a snow-plow pass after we cleaned up the area, we will resend a crew to clear the site again. Ultimately, should any residents have any issue with their community mailbox, they should contact us at 1-844-454-3009 and we will address the issue as quickly as possible.”
