McDonald’s testing all-day breakfast menu in BC

By

TORONTO, ON. (NEWS 1130) – Good news if you’ve ever craved a McDonald’s breakfast hashbrown at 11 p.m. The popular fast food chain is now serving all-day breakfast at some of its restaurants across Canada.

It says customers can order Egg McMuffins and hashbrowns, along with other breakfast staples, at 17 restaurants in BC, Ontario and Quebec.

Michelle Yao, Communications Manager at McDonald’s Canada would only say, “We’re working to crack All-Day-Breakfast in Canada.”

The majority of the locations serving breakfast past 11 a.m. are in Ajax and Whitby, Ont. The rest are in Langley, Coquitlam, Mississauga, Brampton and in the Montreal area. The company is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Canada this year and operates more than 1,400 restaurants from coast to coast.

McDonald’s launched all-day breakfast in the United States in the fall of 2015, and has since attributed the popularity of the morning food items for an increase in sales.

Experts say the move could work in this country because Canadians spent $16 billion on breakfast at restaurants last year.
