VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks conclude a three-game homestand this evening against the Florida Panthers. Vancouver has points in 10 of its last 11-games and would love to hit the road with another victory.

All eyes will be on Henrik Sedin, who is just one point away from 1,000 for his career. The captain says it will great to reach the milestone all with one team. “It is very rare to only play for one team for this long. It definitely makes it more special that way for me. That is why it would be nice to get the point tonight on home ice in front of the fans.”

Bo Horvat says Sedin has had a huge impact on his young career. “He has been huge for me. His leadership on and off the ice, the way he carries himself around the room and the way he handles himself every day show why he is a real pro. He has been a huge role model for me. To see him be such a great leader has let me pick up on a lot since I have been here.”

Roberto Luongo will get the start in net against his former team. Ryan Miller gets the start in net for Vancouver. Jayson Megna returns to the lineup after missing the last game with the flu. He will take the place of Reid Boucher.

Defenceman Jordan Subban was called up from the AHL for the first time in his career yesterday. He will not be in the lineup this evening, but he says he is just happy to be in the NHL. “I am just happy to be here. I am excited to learn and be around an NHL team. I know I am not playing tonight, but if the opportunity comes I will be ready and if not I will work hard and learn everyday.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams. Florida doubled up Vancouver 4-2 on December 10th.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. and you can watch the game on Sportsnet.
