Green gets a life sentence with no parole for 17 years

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) – Khouri Green, the man convicted of killing a popular Surrey realtor has been sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 17 years. Colin Hill was shot twice during a random home invasion in 2015.

Hill’s widow, Becky Zhou, had tears in her eyes even before the judge entered the courtroom at BC Supreme Court, but as the proceedings got underway the accused was noticeably absent. Twenty-four-year-old Green is said to be “not medically fit for transport,” which drew at least one frustrated sigh from the court’s gallery.

The accused was in court yesterday afternoon when he apologized and admitted he killed Hill for no reason. The court heard Green had not had a steady job for years before the 2015 murder and relied partly on property crimes for income, like the one that led to Hill’s death.

On Monday, powerful victim impact statements were read aloud as dramatic surveillance footage of the shooting was played in the court.

Last November, Green pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder charge of 42-year-old Colin Hill, a well-respected realtor and father of two.
