VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – More bad news for the Vancouver Canucks, who are being hit hard by a late-season mumps outbreak.
Coach Willie Desjardins has confirmed three more people affiliated with the organization are now showing symptoms.
Defenceman Ben Hutton, injured forward Anton Rodin and trainer Brian Hamilton are all being quarantined.
The team was missing five players due to the highly contagious virus in their 4-1 loss at home to San Jose last night.
Troy Stecher is the only player with a confirmed case, but fellow defencemen Christopher Tanev and Nikita Tryamkin, along with forwards Mike Chaput and Markus Granlund were held out after showing symptoms.
There is some good news for fans though as Tanev and Stecher have since been cleared.
The Canucks’ next game is Tuesday at home against Detroit.
