VSB unions upset over in-house bullying report

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The unions representing teachers and support staff at the Vancouver School Board are blasting last week’s report that finds some school trustees bullied senior staff members including the superintendent and secretary-treasurer.

The investigation by Roslyn Goldner found there was a toxic work environment.

But Chloe McKnight with the Vancouver Elementary School Teachers Association says the union leadership was not contacted or interviewed.

“None of us were ever asked to be interviewed, we didn’t really know about the process of the investigation and we’re really concerned about the conclusions reached.”

The trustees have since been replaced by the provincial government.

The unions says hard questions must be asked and want by-elections for trustees.
