VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks are in action this evening in game four of their five game home stand.
Vancouver’s playoff chances are looking extremely grim, ten points back of the final wild card spot in the Western Conference with 14-games remaining. Tonight’s opponent is in a much better position: the Boston Bruins are third in the Atlantic Division and are two points clear of the Maple Leafs for the final wild card spot.

The Canucks have allowed an alarming amount of shots against over the past month and the Bruins are near the top of the league in shots per game. It has the potential to make for a bad combination and Bo Horvat says they will need to help out starting goalie Ryan Miller.
“I think it will be one of the big keys tonight. We have to limit their chances. Miller, Jacob Markstrom and Richard Bachman have played unbelievable for us all year and it’s been keeping us in it some games, but we will definitely have to help Miller out tonight.”
The Canucks will have another fresh face in the lineup tonight. Drew Shore cleared waivers and will make his debut after Vancouver signed him and brought him over from Switzerland. The 26-year old collected a team-high 48-points in 50-games for Kloten HC of the Swiss-A League this season. Prior to his time overseas, Shore had NHL stops in Calgary and Florida. He thinks he can make an immediate impact for Vancouver.
“I can be a good two way centreman. The Canucks have given a lot of opportunities to some guys and they have seized it and done very well. I hope I can show them I can be part of their future and help them win hockey games. Whatever they ask me to do I will be ready for it.”
