Woman creates group dedicated to helping those on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside

With the help of friends financial advisor gives a helping hand to those who need it

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero Paula Garcia. She was nominated by Laura Collini. Take a look at her story.

Paula Garcia has created a not for profit organization called Small Steps Vancouver with a group of friends.

This group is dedicated on helping people in need in Vancouver. Every Tuesday, they make, then hand-deliver sandwiches and essentials to people living in the Downtown Eastside. Caring for people is what she does best. She has been my financial advisor at a local financial institution for years now, and I have never met someone who truly cares and gives back to the community. She and her organization deserve to be recognized for the “small steps” they make.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Paula with $500 to say thanks for being our unsung hero and they’re also making a $1,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charity.
