‘Four loud gunshots’: locals recount shooting in Langley parking lot

By

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says 20-year-old Tyrell Michael Sinnott is the man who was shot to death in a Langley hotel parking lot over the weekend.

Sinnott‘s shooting is believed to be targeted, and not random.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been named.

People who work in the businesses along a busy Langley parking lot near the Highway 1 and 200th Street interchange say they’re shocked that someone was shot and killed so publicly.

A man who works at a store across the street tells NEWS 1130 the shooting is all anyone is talking about.

“It’s kind of scary to think that this stuff happens in broad daylight,” he says. “I don’t know what all the details of the story are, I just know driving out I saw a grey SUV that had windows shot out of it and a tent appeared to be over another vehicle.”

The parking lot is considered a busy one, with shops and a restaurant in addition to the hotel.

The man says he was walking outside when he heard “four loud gunshots.”

“I thought they were firecrackers at first. It was actually pretty quiet considering it was just across the street. A fellow worker says, no, those are gunshots. Get inside the building.”

RCMP say when they responded to the shots-fired call at around 2 p.m. Saturday, they found a man with gunshot wounds who eventually died of his injuries.
