Vancouver businessman among the victims in Manila attack

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A Vancouver businessman has been identified as one of the 37 peope killed in a casino fire in the capital of the Philippines on Friday.
Rolando Sison had just seen some clients at the Resorts World Manila, an upmarket hotel and casino, when gunfire broke out.
Sison apparently had taken cover in a washroom, but he suffocated in the smoke created by the fire lit by the suspect.
Meanwhile, a suspect has been named in the deadly attack.
Police believe it was 43-year-old Jessie Carlos, who had a gambling debt of more than $80,000 (US).
Martin Andanar, who speaks for the Philippine President, says police believe the motive was robbery.
“This was a deranged individual who went in, set the place on fire, and later killed himself .”
Carlos was found dead in a hotel room with self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
Most of the victims died of smoke inhalation.
