BC Liberals’ campaign director leaves role

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – If there’s another election in the province before the end of this year, the BC Liberals will need a new campaign director.

Laura Miller has used social media to announce she’s leaving the role at the end of this month.

On Twitter, she posted four comments including one stating, “After three years-plus with the BC Liberals and two historic elections, I am moving on professionally and geographically at the end of the month.”

The BC Liberal Party has confirmed Miller is ‘transitioning out of her role as planned’ and a new executive director has yet to be named.

Miller is accused of destroying email records when plans to build two gas plants were cancelled in 2011 and she was deputy chief to former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. Miller’s trial on two charges of mischief and one count of breach of trust starts in Toronto in September.

The charges were laid in 2015. If convicted, Miller could face up to 10 years in prison.
