Canada Day party continues downtown

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Canada Day may be over, but the party continues in downtown Vancouver.

The Canada 150 parade is happening this afternoon and a pancake breakfast was held in the morning.

Gillian Behnke with the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority says the parade is one of a few events happening around Canada Place today.

“We think it’s a great opportunity for people who have their own regular July 1st celebration in their own communities to still come down and experience our event, on day two.”

She says the set up around Canada Place isn’t quite as big today.

“We won’t have the main stage out the front of the building and the kid zone also won’t be in place.”

The parade starts at the corner of Georgia St and Broughton St, and wraps up at Burrard St and Pender St.
