High-risk sex offender fails to show up at residential facility

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver police are looking for the public’s help in locating a high-risk sex offender.
According to police, Christopher Schafer, 40, failed to show up at his Vancouver residential correctional facility at 6 p.m. Thursday.
He was released from custody earlier this week.
He has a long criminal history that includes break and enter, sexual offences, uttering threats, robbery and assaulting a peace officer.
He has had his parole revoked on a number of occasions, usually after breaching conditions related to substance abuse.
Schafer is described as Aboriginal, 5 foot 8 inches tall, 168 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.
He has a tattoo of “WANDA LEE” on the left side of his neck.
