Real life drama unfolds on set of Riverdale

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Things got a little tense on the set of popular television show “Riverdale”, after a cast member got into a somewhat heated verbal exchange with a local busker.

A video posted to Youtube shows actor Cole Sprouse –who plays “Jughead” on the show inspired by the Archie comics– talking to a woman who was playing a guitar in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Robson.

At first, the video shows Sprouse asking her to stop playing while the show filmed their scene, calmly.

“We’re begging you, our production in there is, we can’t film anything,” Sprouse is heard saying, to which the busker responds, later asking for compensation.

“I’ve offered compensation, so I’ve offered for you guys to offer me,” she’s heard saying through a microphone and speaker.

That’s when Sprouse turned to the crowd, and things got a little less friendly.

“Just in case you guys don’t know how this works, this is one of the secrets of film production, we give a location to the city and some scam artists come out,” he said to the crowd, implying that she was trying to take advantage of the situation.

She, however, was quick to reply, saying she played at that location regularly.

“Everyday, I play here every day. So you guys came into where I perform, so you can’t call me a scam artist, you guys came into where I perform. What you guys are is cheap, and rude.”

The busker, who goes by “Babe Cole”, has also taken to social media to share her side of things.
