FedEx closing all Office Print and Ship Centres in Canada

By

TORONTO (NEWS 1130) – More than 200 FedEx employees have been given notice as the shipping company has decided to close all of its retail office stores in Canada.

In what has been a quiet move, FedEx says it will continue to ship within Canada but it plans to shut down all of its copy and office supply stores on august 18th.

The closure will result in 214 employees losing their jobs.

Here is a statement from FedEx Office:

The decision to discontinue FedEx Office operations in Canada was difficult as we’ve enjoyed a 32-year relationship with our Team Members and customers in Canada. We reached the decision to exit the Canadian market after thoughtful evaluations of our business operations and considerations about our future. We are very appreciative of the hard work and contributions of our Team Members, who took care of our customers and made it possible for FedEx Office to earn its reputation as a provider of the very best in production, printing and shipping services.

    • This includes all 24 centres, the manufacturing plant and our head office in Toronto.
    • This decision impacts 214 FedEx Office team members in Canada.

FedEx remains committed to Canada and ready to serve customers’ shipping needs. This decision only impacts FedEx Office Canada locations and services.
