Unsung Hero: Longtime hospital volunteer recognized

By

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero Kathy Butterfield. She was nominated for the award by Sharon Parker. Take a look at her amazing story.

Kathy Butterfield has been a volunteer at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver for 50 consecutive years. She is the longest serving volunteer in this wonderful organization, which has been operating itself for 96 years.

Kathy is a wonderfully giving and positive person, and helps create a warm and caring environment for the patients and staff at the hospital. I’m very proud of her, and would really like to see her get recognized for such a long period of service to a single organization. She truly is an unsung hero, and very deserving of this award.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Kathy with $500 to say thanks for her volunteer efforts and they’re also donating $1,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charity.
